January 27, 3 space travelers pass on in fire during trial of Apollo rocket

On Jan. 27, 1967, space travelers Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom, Edward H. White and Roger B. Chaffee passed on instantly fire during a test on board their Apollo rocket.

Agents found that the fire started on account of an electrical short, because of the decision of Teflon as the covering for the wiring inside the space case. Despite the fact that Teflon is known as a fire safe material, the wires shrouded in Teflon and picked for the order module were effectively entered and harmed.
